Since first acquiring llamas in 1983, Twin Lakes Llama Ranch has been involved in all aspects of the llama industry.  The formative years were an expedition in llama husbandry as well as witnessing the emergence of llama organizations and show development.

Through it all Twin Lakes was growing in experience.  We attended sales and shows from coast to coast while selecting breeding stock.  Back at the ranch the numbers were growing with new babies being born and raised.  By 1996, the third largest herd in North America was at the farm.  Looking back we had bred and raised hundreds of llamas and learned unique insights into this special industry.

In May of 1996 the entire collection was dispersed at a public sale.  This decision was made to refocus, simplify and to take advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity.  The opportunity to be the exclusive importer of select Peruvian llamas.  After many trips to Peru for selection and subsequent importations we now have the largest selection of pure Peruvian llama bloodstock in North America.
